Beans in Dominican Republic

My home country of Dominican Republic is no stranger to beans!

The peak of Dominican cuisine is “habichuelas guisadas,” stewed kidney beans often served over white rice.

Beans are also a core ingredient in dishes like Moro, Locrio, and Sancocho.

Beans are even used for desserts, like with “habichuelas con dulce,” a sweet treat made form kidney beans and coconut milk.

As the Bean Believer, I am proud to say that Dominican cuisine is pro-beans!
